“Be totally submissive to your husband – Asari Dokubo tells daughter”

DEGEMA (CONVERSEER) – The Amanyanabo of Elem Kalabari, Dabaye Amakiri I (Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo), on Sunday, 17th August 2025, gave his daughter, Rukayat Becky Omoro, in marriage to Abdurrazaq Tamunodiepriye Cline.
Addressing his daughter, the monarch urged her to be “totally submissive” to her husband, stressing that patience, humility, and respect are the true pillars of marriage.
Dokubo also charged her to honour her husband’s family and anchor her union on the guidance of the Qur’an.

The ceremony, held at the royal villa in Degema, blended Kalabari traditional rites with Islamic Nikkah and was graced by dignitaries, cultural troupes, and well-wishers from across the Niger Delta.
