Calabar (Converseer) – A tragic road accident occurred Thursday night involving a Toyota Siena bus travelling from Bekwarra to Calabar, resulting in the loss of lives and injuries to several passengers.
Among those who lost their lives were Ajor Gloria and Engineer Godwin Benjamin, who was reportedly travelling to celebrate his convocation ceremony at the University of Calabar.
According to reports, some of the passengers included UNICAL students and family members journeying to attend the 38th Convocation Ceremony — a trip meant for celebration that ended in grief.
Emergency responders attended to the scene, and the injured were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the cause of the accident.
