Another auto crash has claimed the lives of five persons and injured 11 along the Calabar-Itu road.

CONVERSEER gathered that the crash which happened on Saturday at Ayadehe, Akwa Ibom section of the road was between a Nissan Caravan with registration number GWB-532XY and a Heavy Duty Truck without a registration number.

Confirming the incident on Sunday, Corps Commander Matthew Olonisaye, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Akwa Ibom Command attributed the auto crash to overspeeding.

Olonisaye who disclosed this via a statement signed by Paul James, Public Enlightenment Officer of the command, also emphasised that adherence to safety regulations could have prevented the tragic outcome.
