BAMAKO (CONVERSEER) – Images circulating on social media have drawn attention to what is described as a well-established militant training camp in Mali, reportedly operated by the Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM).
According to the accompanying claims, the facility possesses substantial infrastructure and was the venue for a graduation ceremony for a cohort of JNIM fighters, as seen in the images.
The event allegedly marked the completion of training for the group, underscoring the organisation’s continued capacity to organise, train, and publicly showcase its members despite ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the Sahel.
The material was shared by sources linked to AzZalaqa, a media outlet commonly associated with JNIM communications. Independent verification of the location, timing, and authenticity of the images was not immediately possible.
