Adams and Ejuke help Sevilla demolish Oviedo

SEVILLE (CONVERSEER) – Two Nigerian Internationals, Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke, on Sunday, helped Sevilla to thrash newly promoted side, Real Oviedo in the La Liga on match day 16.

The win moved Sevilla to 8th position with 20 points, three behind Athletic Club, who are finding it difficult to win games recently.

The record UEFA Europa League holders started the game on the front foot with Adams opening the scoring in the 4th minute.

Adams turned provider, assisting Djibril Sow and Batista Mendy in the 22nd and 51st minutes to make it 3-nil, putting the game beyond Oviedo’s reach.

Ejuke sealed the game in the 89th minute, 6 minutes after Oviedo’s David Carmo received his second match order.

The win has rejigged Sevilla’s grip on the top four ladder while Oviedo remained 19th, and may further slip to 20th, if Levante win their game in hand.

Adams won the MVP and the duo are expected in the Super Eagles’ camp ahead of the 16 December friendly match against Egypt before heading to Morocco for the AFCON, which starts on 21 December.
