UGEP (CONVERSEER) – A tragic accident has claimed the life of Smart Love Eyong, Manager of Don Wills Club Bar and Lodge in Ugep, Cross River State.
The incident occurred on Friday at Adim in Biase LGA, a village near Ugep, leaving two others injured.
Eyong died instantly and was taken to the mortuary.
The accident, which happened on a stretch of the Ikom/Calabar Highway, is part of a growing concern over road safety in the area. Eyewitnesses describe the scene as gory, with several accidents having occurred at the same spot.
The people of Ugep and the management of Don Wills Club are mourning the loss of Eyong, a respected member of the community.
Cross Riverians are calling on both the State and Federal Governments to look into the deplorable state of the road to prevent further deaths.
