TEL AVIV (CONVERSEER) – As Operation Roaring Lion reaches its 14th day on March 16, 2026, Israel continues joint operations with the United States against Iran and its proxies, including intensified airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

Hezbollah and Iran’s IRGC launched coordinated barrages of over 150 missiles and 30 drones targeting Israeli cities from Haifa to central regions, marking one of the largest attacks since the conflict began on March 2.

Latest Military Developments

Israeli forces struck over 70 Hezbollah missile launchers, weapons storage sites, and command centers in Beirut’s southern suburbs and southern Lebanon, while reinforcing the northern border by transferring the Golani Brigade.

The IDF reported eliminating key Hezbollah commanders, including the head of the ‘Nassar’ Unit, amid ongoing ground operations near the border. No Israeli fatalities from recent Hezbollah rocket fire, though injuries and shelter alerts persist nationwide.

Iran’s sustained missile campaigns, now incorporating cluster bombs in roughly half of projectiles aimed at Israel, have strained defenses, with the IRGC claiming hits on over 50 targets.

The U.S. supports efforts to secure the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran’s blockade disrupts 20% of global oil supply.

Mounting Humanitarian Toll

Lebanon’s Health Ministry reports at least 634 deaths since March 2, including 91 children and 47 women, with over 1,500 wounded and attacks on medical facilities. Displacement exceeds 800,000 people, including 126,000 in shelters, straining resources and raising risks of gender-based violence. The UN warns of a “grave humanitarian emergency,” with nearly 700,000 displaced in Lebanon alone as of early March.

No immediate ceasefire signs emerge, with both sides vowing continued operations.
