ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – Nine Senators from across three political parties have notified the 10th Senate of their defection to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Senators Victor Umeh, Tony Nwoye and Ireti Kingibe moved from the Labour Party to ADC.
Five others, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Binos Yaroe, Lawal Adamu Usman, Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo and Augustine Akobundu resigned from the PDP to ADC.
Enyinnaya Abaribe, who was the only APGA member in the Senate, also defected to ADC.
However, the Senate has given Senator Abaribe one week to reconsider his defection because his explanation that he dumped APGA because he was sacked by the party is not justified, as it is not covered by the constitution.
