Cross River NDDC Rep congratulates Gov Otu on his conferment of Honorary Doctorate, Sun Man of the Year

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – Rt. Hon. Orok Duke, PhD, the Cross River State representative on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has extended his warmest congratulations to the Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, following a series of prestigious national recognitions.

In a congratulatory message on Saturday night, Rt. Hon. Orok Duke lauded the Governor’s conferment with an Honorary Doctorate (Doctor of Humanities) by the Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, Adamawa State, during the institution’s 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremony.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, while justifying the award, described Governor Otu as a “bridge-builder” whose leadership style is defined by unwavering integrity, inclusion, and a “People-First” philosophy.

The academic honour coincided with another milestone for the Governor, who was also recognised as The Sun Newspaper Man of the Year.

Reacting to the dual honours, the NDDC Rep noted that these recognitions further solidify Governor Otu’s reputation as a leader whose impact transcends geographical boundaries.

“These awards are a testament to the Governor’s dedication to service,” Duke stated. “He is bringing honour back home to the People’s Paradise, proving that a leadership style rooted in humanity and integrity will always be noticed on the national stage.”

The NDDC representative concluded by wishing the Governor continued wisdom as he steers the affairs of the state toward greater prosperity.
