UGEP (CONVERSEER) – The Executive Chairman of Yakurr Local Government Council, Hon. Yibala Inyang, on 11 December 2025, celebrated former Governor of Cross River State, Chief Clement David Ebri, as he marked his 73rd birthday.
Inyang described Ebri as an elder statesman with integrity who led by example.
“Today, I join the Government and people of Yakurr to celebrate a statesman whose life of integrity, discipline, and exemplary leadership continues to inspire generations.
“From Mkpani to the heights of national service, your contributions to governance and democratic stability remain a shining legacy for our State and Nation. We pray for renewed strength, sound health, and profound peace. Happy 73rd birthday, Your Excellency,” Inyang said in a social media post.

Hon. Inyang, also Chairman of ALGON in Cross River State, further praised Chief Ebri’s role in strengthening democratic institutions and fostering unity among the state’s diverse communities.
“Your leadership continues to guide us, and we remain grateful for the foundations you laid for future generations,” he added.
Chief Ebri, who served as governor from 1992 to 1993, was born on 11 December 1952, in Mkpani, Yakurr. He served during the Nigerian Third Republic, leaving office after the military coup that brought General Sani Abacha to power.
