CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – There was a pandemonium on Saturday in Calabar, Cross River State, following the stabbing to death of a man on a sunny afternoon.

The incident that occurred inside the Ika Ika Oqua (Marian) Market disrupted economic activities and threw the community into chaos.

According to a source who spoke under anonymity, a man in his forties came by his mother’s stand, where she sells ice fish, to create a scene, leading to his sister, who is in her twenties, stabbing him to death.

The man, whose identity has not been ascertained at the time of this report, was said to be assaulting his mother while demanding money from her.

“Out of anger, the girl picked the knife they used to sell ice fish to stab her brother. As she removed the knife, the man fell down and within minutes, he died.

“The man always comes to harass and beat up his mother. Whether the woman gives him money or not, he will be hitting her. It’s like he’s always on a substance.

“The man used to sexually assault his mother whenever he was on substances, and this time, the girl could not take it any longer, so she stabbed him,” the source told Converseer.
