MAIDUGURI (CONVERSEER) – A false alarm raised late Monday night by students of Government Girls College Maiduguri, Borno State caused widespread panic after claims circulated that unknown gunmen had invaded the school’s hostel.

Borno state government and security operatives swiftly intervened, confirming that no gunmen were present and that the alarm was unfounded.

Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Lawan Abba Wakilbe, confirmed that the situation was a false alarm and urged students, parents, and the public to remain calm, assuring that strengthened security measures have now been put in place across the school.
