Days Gone Remastered update adds power saver mode for PS5 consoles

NEW YORK (CONVERSEER)Sony Bend Studio has rolled out a new update for Days Gone Remastered, introducing support for the Power Saver feature on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro consoles. The update, version 1.036.180, was released on Monday, 21 October, according to a report by PSU.

The Power Saver mode is a recent addition to Sony’s PS5 system software, designed to reduce energy consumption while maintaining gameplay stability. When enabled, the console automatically optimises performance output depending on a game’s requirements, helping users save electricity without significantly affecting visual or gameplay quality.

Industry observers suggest the feature may be part of Sony’s broader strategy to enhance energy efficiency and possibly prepare for future handheld PlayStation devices, which would rely heavily on balanced performance and power management.

Fourth First-Party Title to Support Power Saver Mode

With this update, Days Gone Remastered becomes the fourth first-party PlayStation game to integrate Power Saver support, joining Demon’s Souls, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and Ghost of Yotei.

The addition allows players to enjoy a more sustainable gaming experience, as the console intelligently adjusts its power draw during gameplay. Sony has yet to confirm when third-party developers will gain access to the feature, but the current lineup suggests that first-party optimisation remains the initial focus.

How to Enable the Feature

Players who wish to activate Power Saver mode can do so via the PS5 system settings. The feature is accessible by navigating to:

Settings > System > Power Saving > Use Energy Saving Mode

Once enabled, Power Saver automatically applies to supported titles, requiring no in-game configuration. The adjustment provides a seamless experience for users who want to reduce their console’s power consumption without compromising performance.

Days Gone Remastered Continues to Evolve

Days Gone Remastered launched on PS5 in April 2025, serving as a visually enhanced version of the original PS4 open-world horror title. The remaster improved texture quality, frame rate stability, and lighting effects, while also introducing expanded accessibility options for broader player inclusion.

The new update reinforces Sony’s commitment to sustainability and technological innovation, as more first-party developers embrace eco-friendly performance optimisation across the PlayStation ecosystem.
