OWERRI (CONVERSEER) – The Imo State Police Command has arrested and detained three of its personnel identified in a viral video showing alleged unprofessional conduct.
In a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Henry Okoye, the officers were named as Inspector Obinna Peter, Corporal Amaechi Augustine, and Corporal Ejikeme Victor.
The statement revealed that the officers are currently in custody while a thorough investigation into their alleged involvement in cultism and other related offences is ongoing. An Orderly Room Trial has been scheduled to commence on Monday to address the allegations formally.
“The conduct displayed in the viral video is highly unprofessional and does not reflect the discipline, ethics, and values of the Nigeria Police Force,” the Command stated.

Following the emergence of the video online, which attracted widespread public condemnation, the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, immediately ordered a comprehensive investigation to establish the facts and ensure accountability.
The Command assured the public that disciplinary measures would be applied in line with established police regulations and that the outcome of the internal process would be made public.
It reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining professionalism, accountability, and transparency in its operations across the state, adding that such misconduct would not be tolerated within the ranks of the Nigeria Police Force.
