In a statement issued on Tuesday, 9th September 2025, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Barr. Francis Oyije, on behalf of the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Stephen Odey, said the resumption applies to all categories of pupils and students across the state.
The Ministry directed that teaching and learning activities should commence immediately upon resumption, urging parents and guardians to ensure their children and wards return to school without delay.
Furthermore, the statement directed all teaching and non-teaching staff of public and private schools to return to their duty posts unfailingly to guarantee smooth academic operations.
The Ministry emphasised that the directive is in line with the state’s 2025/2026 academic calendar, which had earlier been released, and must be strictly adhered to by all schools.
