CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Commissioner representing Cross River State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Rt. Hon. Orok Duke PhD, has applauded Governor Bassey Otu for acquiring two new aircraft for the state-owned carrier, CallyAir.

Duke gave the commendation in Calabar on Tuesday during the official commissioning of the aircraft by Vice President Kashim Shettima and Governor Otu at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport.

He described the acquisition as a significant step towards enhancing Cross River’s tourism potential and improving accessibility for investors and businesses.

He lauded the governor’s commitment to sustainable development, noting that his policies since assuming office had revitalised the state’s economy.

According to Duke, the two Bombardier CRJ1000 aircraft will address the recurring issues of flight delays and cancellations that often disrupt passenger plans and deter investment and tourism in the state.

“This initiative will not only boost tourism but also make Cross River more attractive to investors and business-minded individuals,” he said.
The NDDC representative urged residents to rally behind the governor, adding that more impactful projects were in the pipeline to transform the state and improve the living standards of its people.
