PRETORIA (CONVERSEER) – Jacobus Stefanus Geldenhuis (65) appeared before the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday, 4 December 2025, facing 21 counts of fraud and money laundering.
He was granted bail of R10 000, and the case was postponed to 26 January 2026 for docket disclosure.
Geldenhuis was arrested after handing himself over to the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation unit.
He is accused of posing as a financial advisor and convincing investors to deposit funds into various accounts, claiming the money would be invested offshore.

Investigators later found that he was disbarred as an advisor in 2009 and that his company was not registered with the FSCA.
Victims reportedly lost a total of R100 million through the alleged scheme.
