ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – A new phase in the political journey of the Obudu/Bekwara/Obanlikwu (OBO) Federal Constituency was formally opened on Wednesday as Prince Victor Ategwu Akpam unveiled and inaugurated his campaign at a well-attended event in Abuja.

The campaign launch took place at D’Jonas Garden, FHA Estate, Lugbe, and drew a broad mix of supporters from Obudu, Bekwara and Obanlikwu Local Government Areas, signalling growing grassroots support for his bid to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.

Addressing supporters, Prince Akpam described the event as the symbolic beginning of a new era rooted in unity, service and accountability. He expressed appreciation to supporters, sponsors and well-wishers who travelled from different locations to identify with his vision for the constituency and Cross River State.

“This gathering is more than a campaign launch; it is a statement of love, unity and readiness for a new beginning,” he said. “It affirms that our people are prepared to chart a different course, one anchored on service, accountability and development.”

Prince Akpam paid tribute to the Campaign Director and co-host of the event, Mr Jeremiah Awhe, praising his coordination and commitment, which he said were central to the success of the launch. He also acknowledged the support of key partners, including his boss and Director of the World Sustainable Development Goals Organization (WSDGsO), West African Region, His Excellency CDR. Fubes Ade Danor, for his encouragement and sponsorship.

He noted that the strong turnout reflected a shared belief among constituents in the possibility of positive change and effective representation. According to him, the campaign would remain people-centred and focused on issues affecting everyday lives across the constituency.

“Today marks the beginning, not the end,” Prince Akpam added. “We will not relent until this collective dream becomes a living reality for every community in Obudu, Bekwara and Obanlikwu.”

The event ended with prayers and goodwill messages for the constituency, members of the PVA Akpam Support Group and the wider Cross River State.

With the OBO27 campaign now officially underway, supporters say the movement represents a renewed call for responsible leadership and a stronger bond of trust and accountability between the people and their prospective representative.
